Friends and Colleagues for Life
Klingenstein Center programs work on a cohort model, resulting in a close-knit group of like-minded educators who rely of each other for years after the program is over. Perhaps this is best described in the words of one alumni:
"The wisdom and experience of [my cohort] has been one of my greatest resources and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity to spend a year learning alongside them. " ~Prentice Stabler, PSL '13, Upper School Head, Franklin Road Academy, TN
Klingenstein alumni serve in schools across the U.S. and in countries across the world. This network of nearly 4000 educators shares a common foundation and dedication to improving the state of education. Often referring to themselves as "Klingons," alumni are delighted to connect at conferences, school visits and at their workplaces.
The Klingenstein Center is in the process of developing an online community for our alumni to interact with each other, exchange ideas, and post school openings. Even before this is developed there are many ways to stay connected via social media or alumni events.
Klingenstein alumni are also alumni of Teachers College and Columbia University. In addition to all the benefits of the Klingenstein network, you have a number of benefits through TC and Columbia, such as a use of the Columbia libraries for life, access to the Columbia Alumni Center, and membership in the Columbia Alumni Association Arts Access.
You are also eligible to join the Columbia Club for use of their NYC facility and over 200 reciprocal clubs around the world. Benefits include dining, hotel accommodations, gym membership, and access to special events. Current graduate students get excellent introductory rates. Alumni currently working in schools may receive deeply discounted rates.
