The Science of Learning - What Every Teacher Needs to Know is a free MOOC (massive online open course) provides a self-paced opportunity to examine common misconceptions and misunderstandings about learning that can prevent students from learning at their fullest capacity. Participants will explore the practical implications of cognitive science for classroom teaching and learn techniques that can positively impact student learning and motivation.
The MOOC is offered through EdX and the White House ConnectEd initiative and was created by Teachers College Professors Pearl Rock Kane and Kevin Mattingly in partnership with Columbia University's Center for Teaching and Learning. Participants can elect to receive a certificate of completion issued by EdX.
