All Our Kin

All Our Kin is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that transforms the quality and availability of early care and education for young children by creating and sustaining high-quality family child care programs. All Our Kin invests in family child care providers, giving them the resources, training, and support necessary for creating and sustaining high-quality, family child care programs.

The Esther and Joseph A. Klingenstein Fund has invested in All Our Kin since 2016.  Most recently, we helped support the expansion of All Our Kin’s direct service work in Connecticut and New York City; its technical assistance across Hartford, New York City, Nebraska, and New Jersey; and the launch of its policy advising work.

In October 2019, All Our Kin released the policy publication, “Creating the Conditions for Family Child Care to Thrive,” which captures much of the information and best-practices it has been sharing since its founding in 1999. The publication puts forth a vision for the conditions that the organization believes need to be present in every community for family child care to thrive, coupled with recommendations for state and local leaders who are committed to realizing that vision.
