Early Childhood Funder Collaborative Study Examines the Effects of Child Care on Workforce Productivity
A survey of Connecticut businesses – funded by the Connecticut Early Childhood Funder Collaborative, of which the Esther A. & Joseph Klingenstein Fund is a member – found that the cost and availability of child care were significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Access to child care during the pandemic reduced workforce reliability and productivity.
The survey also found that employers think an increase in government assistance, such as tax incentives to support child care, will help recruit and retain workforce talent.
