Defensores de la Cuenca, or “watershed defenders,” is a Latino-led non-profit that connects Spanish speakers to nature through opportunities to protect the Chesapeake Bay watershed. This grant supports Defensores de la Cuenca’s work helping under-resourced neighborhoods that have experienced environmental inequities in Prince George’s County, MD, mitigate heat island effects, reduce stormwater runoff, and improve local air quality.
